What Faculty in Our Community Have to Say about Canvas

“For the past eight years, I’ve been simultaneously teaching online classes in Blackboard and Canvas. In my experience, Canvas is far superior to Blackboard in both design and function. In terms of design, Canvas is easier for students and faculty to navigate. One of my favorite functions is the search bar, which allows me to search the entire course quickly to locate what I need. Furthermore, Canvas’ seamless course and gradebook integration with “apps” such as Flip and Perusal, make my grading easier. As with learning any new technology, you will need to time adjust. The time will be worth it.”

“I’m starting my fifth-semester using Canvas at another law school. I find it easy to use and the students have not had any complaints. The menus are uncomplicated. I access the Canvas site directly to present materials during each class. I also import content from one semester to the next and use Speed Grader to grade exams.”
