Link Echo Video Recordings in Canvas

Important:  Lectures are NOT recorded automatically, only by instructor request.  Lecture Capture must be requested via the appropriate Bonita BPM form. Adding the link as outlined below will not schedule your recordings.

Step 1:  Add a Link

You can add a link to your Canvas course in the Menu, or as an item in a module.

To add an Echo link to your menu:

  • Go to Settings > Navigation.
  • Locate the Echo360 link in the list of inactive menu items.
  • Click the […] menu to the right, and select “Enable”.
  • Make sure to scroll down and click Save to apply the change.

To add an Echo link to a module,

  • Go to your Modules area.
  • Click the + button next to the appropriate module.
  • Select to add an External Tool
  • Click the Echo Video link in the list of tools (this will populate the link – do not edit the inserted URL)
  • If desired, edit the Page Name
  • Click Add Item

Note:  Once a link has been added it will persist from semester to semester, you do not need to re-add the link each time.  However Step 2 (below) does need to be done every time once your recordings have been scheduled.

Step 2: Activate the Link

  1. Click the link you created in Step 1 above
  2. Select the Semester, Course and Section for the course you’re teaching (note:  You can not select an older semester to give students access to previous recordings, as student access is limited by semester).
  3. Click Connect to activate the link.
