  • Contract scope and procurement 
  • Technical readiness (data integrations with other university systems, tool readiness from Blackboard Learn to Canvas, create resources and documentation) 

Summer 2024

  • Technical readiness continued
  • Canvas system setup 
  • Create resources for rollout (training and documentation)
  • Pilot faculty access to Canvas (after June 1st)

Fall 2024

  • The Fall Canvas pilot starts!
  • Faculty training for fall pilot faculty group
  • Expanded pilot prep for the Spring 2025 semester
  • Spring Canvas expanded pilot faculty training

Spring 2025

  • Expanded pilot of Canvas 
  • Broad access to Canvas with practice sites
  • Broad faculty training
  • Course migrations begin
  • Faculty training continued
  • Archive Blackboard Learn courses begins

Summer 2025

  • All UMD courses offered in Canvas
  • Course migrations continue
  • Archive Blackboard Learn courses complete
  • Blackboard Learn discontinued  
  • UMass Dartmouth fully moved to Canvas LMS
