LMS Migration to Canvas

In Spring 2024, UMass Dartmouth started a Learning Management System (LMS) migration project, changing from Blackboard Learn (myCourses) to the Instructure Canvas platform. Faculty and students can access Canvas via the myUMassD portal. Log into my.umassd.edu with your UMassD Logon. Access Canvas via the Quick Launch menu in the myUMassD portal.

Canvas is the leading LMS among public research universities and stands out for its flexibility, ease of use, and mobile capabilities. The Canvas learning platform is known for being customizable, adaptable, and reliable.

As of Summer 2025, all courses are now hosted via Canvas. Blackboard Learn (myCourses) access ended June 30, 2025.
